HOPING TO REBOOT CAREER IN HIS NEW HOME
With a new chance given him by expansion team Blackwater Elite, JR Cawaling hopes that he can bring the grand slam experience last season with San Mig Coffee to his new squad come the PBA’s 40th season.
“Ang madadala ko dito is yung na-experience ko dun kahit di ako masyadong nagamit,” he said.
Cawaling also admitted that this is also a chance not just for him but for all of them to reboot their careers with this new team.
The combo-guard said, “Sa team na to, iba-iba kami, galing kami lahat sa bangko, walang playing time. Kaya yung nakikita ko sa San Mig, yun ang ishe-share ko sa team na ‘to.”
When asked what he can bring to the Elite, Cawaling said he learned a lot from coach Tim Cone, saying, “Sa dami ng naituro ni coach Tim, ang dami kong masasabi. Pero ang pinakatumatak sa akin ay yung sa pagkatao, especially in accepting yung role mo sa team.”
Cawaling is expected to be a hired gunner for Blackwater, and be a valuable piece in coach Leo Isaac’s rotation. (RL)
