RAIN OR SHINE IMPORT OOZING WITH CONFIDENCE
Getting his feet wet with a scuffle in his first tuneup game with Rain or Shine, Rick Jackson said that no amount of physicality would throw him off of his game.
“I know all about physicality,” he said.
Jackson, 25, just wrapped up his stint with Krasny Oktyabr in Russia after stops in France, Israel, and the NBA D-League. And he said that all of these former stints of his has helped him get accustomed to the constant banging of bodies down low.
“I came from a really physical background. You know college is physical. I’ve played on a lot of physical leagues, and the PBA is really physical. But it’s going to be a long year,” he said
The 6-foot-9 big man added he’s not going to be distracted with all of the extra activities happening inside the paint.
“I think just have to come out and compete hard every game. Just try to be physical. Move the ball. I think we’re going to do better this year. Rebounding that should help us,” he said.
“I’m here to play basketball and continue to play basketball. I think I’ll do good this year.”
