Gilas headed to Cebu for secluded camp before Fiba Asia
Gilas Pilipinas will wind up its build-up for the 2015 Fiba Asia Championships with a secluded training camp in Cebu City next week.
Coach Tab Baldwin did not enumerate the national team’s itinerary in the Queen City of the South, but said the finishing touches to Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations will be centered on fine tuning.
“We will be working on everything, refine everything,” Baldwin said after the Nationals easy win over Talk N’ Text in the MVP Cup Friday night.
The American coach also divulged that he is looking to tweak a little their offensive strategy with with less than a month to go before Fiba Asia, which dangles a lone spot to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
“Probably the only thing different or new is we might put in some new offensive stuff,” he said.
Aside from tying loose ends for the team, escaping the hustle and bustle in Manila is also something in Baldwin’s mind.
“There will be no traffic there. We’ll get to the stadium on time and we’ll have plenty of time to train,” he said.
