2015-16 PBA Season Preview: Alaska Aces
After two bridesmaid finishes last season, Alaska must be entering this season hungrier than ever.
But the Aces are focused on the bigger task at hand, which is getting better every game and not just looking to avenge their previous setbacks.
With this mindset, head coach Alex Compton knows results will come sooner or later.
“Hopefully, we compete on every aspect every possession. We just want to get better, but the ultimate goal is excellence,” he said. “If we can aim for excellence in every way, results will follow.”
Not much has changed when it comes to the Aces personnel, but their keys guys brought home invaluable experience with Calvin Abueva, Dondon Hontiveros, and Sonny Thoss coming off a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in 2015 Fiba Asia Championship which would surely benefit Alaska.
Compton, for his part, also missed training camp, because of national team duties but he expressed confidence in his coaching staff led by assistant Louie Alas in getting the Aces ready for the grueling season ahead.
