GlobalPort, Barako Bull pull off contrasting wins in PBA Women’s 3-on-3
GlobalPort and Barako Bull pulled off contrasting wins in the PBA Women’s 3-on-3 Wednesday at Cuneta Astrodome.
The Batang Pier banked on their defense in a 7-1 win over the Star Hotshots in Group B while the Energy outdueled the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 14-11, in Group A
Regina Dela Merced carried much of Barako Bull’s offensive load with a game-high nine points.
Dela Merced found herself in a virtual shootout with Charlene Camba, who scored eight points for Rain or Shine.
Barako Bull picked up its first win after a 0-3 start and sent Rain or Shine to a winless campaign at 0-5.
“Our confidence level was different this game so I think that was a big factor why we won,” said a bubbly Dela Merced.
Jasmine Tiu-Malto, Nelia Sinsioco and Julia Pearl Gula had two points each for GlobalPort, which leveled its win-loss record to 2-2.
Regina Castillo scored the only point for Star, which wrapped up its campaign with a 1-4 card.
