Another year comes to a close and everyone gets a chance for a fresh start.
And what better way to start 2016 than by making a list of New Year’s resolutions.
For many, leaving all the bad habits behind would be a good change and these PBA players are no exception.
Mac Baracael, admitting his faults, definitely wants to cut back on alcohol.
“Siguro ang akin, bawasan ang nightlife. Madalas kasi ako uminom eh,” sincerely said Baracael.
Rain or Shine guard Paul Lee, meanwhile, remains consistent in wanting to abandon bad habits.
“Same pa din. Gusto ko lang baguhin yung mga naging bad habits ko this year,” the Tondo dribbler said.
For some, the New Year is also new chance to improve and be a better player.
“Mine is to get more stretching. I want to stretch everyday,” said GlobalPort’s Stanley Pringle.
Alaska’s Chris Banchero shared, “I want to get better on defense.”
“Magti-three points na ako sa PBA,” said Star’s Marc Pingris.
But that’s not all for Pingris as his keeps his family as one of his top priorities.
“Gusto ko lang safe yung family ko this year and gusto ko magka-baby kami this year or next year,” he said.
The same goes for his Gilas teammate Calvin Abueva: “Maging happy lang ang family ko, ok na ako.”
The tough grind in the PBA has also caused sone players to miss important family dates so NLEX’s Asi Taulava and Rain or Shine’s Chris Tiu want to make up for those missed events this 2016.
“Siguro my resolution is to not overwork myself, but spend more time with my loved ones,” said the Tiu.
“I want to be a better father and a better husband. Sometimes, I take my career too serious, forgetting that I have other side, another obligation to be husband. I got to work on that,” Taulava, the league’s eldest statesman, shared.
“I’m too focused on my career, so I want to spend more time with my kids and more time taking my wife out,” he said.
Fil-Tongan rookie Mo Tautuaa, ever the joker, has one thing in mind with the 2016 rolling out.
“I want to get a tan,” he said. “I might have to lie down in Manila Bay just to get one.”
