PBA Women’s 3×3: NLEX, TNT score early wins

NLEX and TNT opened the PBA Tag Heuer Women’s 3×3 Tournament with contrasting wins as the competition tipped off on Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Katherine Sandel imposed her will to lead the Road Warriors to a 15-4 victory over Alaska.

Sandel waxed hot from rainbow country, draining a trio of two-pointers to pace NLEX with nine points.

Analyn Almazan also got four markers in her debut, while Fria Bernardo had two.

Anna Marika Iida led the Aces with three points.

In the second game, Tropang TNT used a late spurt to fend off the pesky GlobalPort, 14-9.

Karen Salapong scored nine points as she led the 6-0 blast in the final two minutes to grab the win.

Jaclyn Marie Cruz also had four for the Tropa.

Julie Pearl Gula carried the Batang Pier with five points, while Nelia Sinsioco had four.

First Game:
NLEX 15 – Sandel 9, Almazan 4, Bernardo 2, Ortega 0.
ALASKA 4 – Iida 3, Reyes 1, Gomendoza 0, Manuel 4.

Second Game:
TNT 14 – Salapong 9, Cruz 4, Mercado 1, Paz 0.
GLOBALPORT 9 – Gula 5, Sinsioco 4, Tiu-Malto 0, Santos 0.
