PBA Women’s 3×3: NLEX outclasses Rain or Shine to take 1-0 lead

NLEX made Rain or Shine pay dearly for its fouls as the Road Warriors took a 15-10 Game 1 victory in the best-of-3 Finals of the PBA Women’s 3×3 Tournament Thursday at Philsports Arena.

Proving to be the more cohesive crew, NLEX used its might to outsmart the Elasto Painters and make a living at the charity stripe.

Six of the final seven points of the Road Warriors came from the free throw line as they moved a win away from snaring the title.

Katherine Sandel had eight points, including the huge bank shot to put NLEX up, 12-10 with 20.7 ticks remaining.

Analyn Almazan added four markers, all from the charity stripe, while Fria Bernardo chipped in a pair, including the game-clinching freebie.

Game 2 is on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ara Abaca got six points for Rain or Shine, but missed her attempt as the E-Painters fightback fell short in yhe end.
