With reminders from his veteran teammates, San Miguel Beer’s Keith Agovida is evolving more into a two-dimensional player now that he is on the defending champions’ side.

Known for his offensive prowess in his former teams Blackwater and Mahindra, the 6-foot-2 Agovida revealed that he continuing to learn from his experienced teammates especially on the defensive end.

“Unang-una kay kuya Ronald Tubid tapos kay kuya Gabby Espinas at Marcio Lassiter,” the sophomore wingman said when asked who among Coach Leo Austria’s wards are helping him to grow as a player.

“‘Yung ina-advice sa’kin ni kuya Ronald ‘yung sa defense, ‘yun ang kailangan e. Kasi dito marami nang gumagawa kaya kailangan defense lang.”

Agovida, who once exploded for 82 points for the Jose Rizal University back in his high school days in the NCAA, also said that three-time MVP June Mar Fajardo is giving him the green light to shoot.

“Binibigyan niya ako ng kumpiyansa. Sinasabi niya, ‘Tira ka lang ng tira may magre-rebound naman e,'” the 26-year old Casiguran, Aurora native said.

Involved in an offseason multiplayer deal that brought him to the fabled franchise, the former Arellano U star in college hopes to see his career blossom in SMB.

“Sana (tumagal ako sa SMB), mag-grow ako dito at makatulong ako sa team.” Jeremiah Sevilla
