Mark Barroca came out of nowhere and emerged as the top vote-getter in fan voting for the upcoming 2017 PBA All-Stars.

The Zamboanga City native drew 32,793 ballots from the in-venue and online voting to lead the Mindanao PBA All-Star squad against Gilas Pilipinas at Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro on April 26.

Barroca will be joined by Scottie Thompson (18,641), PJ Simon (16,486), Rafi Reavis (10,043), and Cyrus Baguio (9,396) in the starting lineup for coach Chito Victolero.

Star teammate Marc Pingris maintained his appeal to the masses, leading the starters for the Luzon PBA All-Stars with 11,079 votes.

He will be joined by Calvin Abueva (11,538), Japeth Aguilar (11,159), Paul Lee (8,163), and Jayson Castro (6,627) in the Luzon first five for coach Leo Austria at Quezon Convention Center in Lucena on April 28.

Former teammate and now-Rain or Shine stalwart James Yap also emerged as the lead vote-getter for the Visayas PBA All-Stars with 18,612 votes.

The former two-time PBA Most Valuable Player will pair up with reigning three-time MVP June Mar Fajardo (18,042), Terrence Romeo (15,069), Joe Devance (10,758), and Jeff Chan (9,419) in the Visayan cast under coach Tim Cone on April 30 at Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
