E-PAINTERS, ROAD WARRIORS SLUG IT OUT

At this point in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup, survival is the name of the game.

Teams who struggled early are trying their earnest to make a late push in hopes of squeaking into the quarterfinals.

And for teams like NLEX and Rain or Shine, currently on the outside looking in at the top eight, every win definitely counts.

So it would be no surprise that when these two squads face off on Wednesday, gloves are sure to come off.

It has been a contrasting conference so far for these two ballclubs.

Rain or Shine struggled off the gates and import Wendell McKines had to shoulder the load before coach Yeng Guiao called out his wards and said that it’s his locals who are the root of the problem.

Those worries were diffused when the E-Painters scored back-to-back wins, their latest an 88-73 victory over Talk ‘N Text in Bacolod City.

NLEX, meanwhile has had doubts on import Kwame Alexander’s ability to lead the team deeper into the conference.

Rumors have persisted that the high-leaping reinforcement is on his way out, but he responded by averaging 24.5 points in the Road Warriors’ last two outings.
