Two days removed from its tough outing against Rain or Shine, NLEX tries to break out of its funk and free itself from the clutches of danger as the Road Warriors fight for survival Friday at the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup.
NLEX almost pulled off a monumental upset, digging its way back from being down by 29 but the Road Warriors’ furious fightback proved to be a little too late.
Drawing huge contributions from Michel Madanly, Asi Taulava, Mac Cardona, and KG Canaleta, coach Boyet Fernandez might be feeling a bit of a relief seeing the fight from his veterans. But it should take more than just that to help the squad get out of the bottom four.
At 2-6, NLEX is hanging on for dear life as another defeat could signal an imminent end to its campaign in the season-ending conference. But ending the two-game skid won’t be that easy, as they will square off against an equally-determined GlobalPort squad.
The Batang Pier seek to improve their 4-4 card after losing to Barako Bull last Sunday.
Coach Pido Jarencio has had admirable success behind the efforts of Jarrid Famous and his three-guard combo of Terrence Romeo, Stanley Pringle and Palestinian import Omar Krayem, and they should again be at the forefront against the Road Warriors.
Tip off is at 7 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. (RL)
