Will Globalport scoring machine Terrence Romeo come out to mow down the Alaska Milk Aces again? Or will the Aces find a way to stop Romeo’s shooting spree.

Scoring almost at will in two previous Globalport-Alaska showdowns, Romeo will be much more the center of attraction as the Batang Pier and the Aces clash in Game Two of their Smart Bro PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinals series.

Action shifts to the Smart Araneta Coliseum with Romeo and the Batang Pier gunning for a repeat of their 107-93 victory in the series opener over at the MOA Arena in Pasay City Monday.

In two meetings from the elimination round, Romeo has torched the Aces with a whopping average of 37 points.

“Terrence is a tremendous talent,” said Alaska coach Alex Compton.

For sure, Compton would map out plan to at least neutralize if not stop the Globalport gunner.

But Romeo said he would just play his game, taking the shots when the situation calls for it or be a facilitator if he needs to be.

“Go with the flow lang ako. Hindi lang naman ako, nandyan ang mga teammates ko na pinagkakatiwalaan ko,” he said.

“I’m thankful to coach Pido (Jarencio) for the play he devised for me. He calls those ball screens by our bigs. Stanley (Pringle) also open things up for me,” he added.

With the multiple picks provided by his teammates, Romeo sizzled with a new career high of 41 points in the series opener.

But he doesn’t expect things to be as easy in Game Two.

“We can’t be contented. Siguradong hindi papayag ang Alaska na mangyari uli yung Game One. Mag-a-adjust sila sobra-sobra,” said Romeo.

The former FEU stalwart believes, though, that they will have a good chance to repeat if they can again handle Alaska’s vaunted pressing defense.

“Alaska’s strength is on their press. They were not able to set their defensive press so much in Game One as Stanley pushed the ball hard as soon as we got the rebound.

A big key was Globalport winning the rebounding department, 50-47. Doug Kramer accounted for 10, Rico Maierhofer nine and Billy Mamaril seven.

The Globalport frontcourt stood their ground against the likes of Sonny Thoss, Eric Menk, Vic Manuel and Calvin Abueva with Alaska taking a mere 48-46 edge on points inside the paint.

Compton rued they didn’t play their usual game, especially on the defensive end.

“We lacked talk on defense. I didn’t hear that out,” Compton said.
