Putting the game 2 fracas behind them, Alaska is keeping its focus on the task at hand—to return to the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.
The Aces got a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series Friday night as they foiled GlobalPort and frustrated Terrence Romeo all game.
“Ok lang sa amin yung nangyari kasi ang focus namin is makabawi sa Game 3 at makuha namin,” Vic Manuel, who lead the Aces with 16 points, said. “Yung fines, magbabayad kami, pero focus lang talaga kami sa game kasi kailangan namin ito eh.”
Romeo was limited only 17 points and was ejected with over six minutes to play after incurring his second technical foul of the game.
Manuel said that Alaska knows Romeo’s importance for the Batang Pier, that’s why the Aces guards, led by Ping Exciminiano, RJ Jazul, Chris Banchero, and JVee Casio all took turns in stopping the spitfire slasher.
“Kailangan namin trabahuin sya kaya talagang focus lang kami sa depensa sa kanya,” he said, highlighting the biggest asset which made Alaska a successful team this conference. “Tulong-tulong talaga kami.”
