It may be Valentine’s Day, but expect no love between these two expansion teams as Blackwater and Mahindra cross paths again on Sunday in the 2016 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

They may just be on their second season in the league, but this early, both the Elite and the Enforcers see each other as their rivals.

Adding fuel to the fire is Blackwater ousting Mahindra in the end the eliminations of the last Philippine Cup, sending the Elite to their first franchise quarterfinals appearance.

“Yung management, galit nung natalo kami last conference sa kanila,” said Mahindra forward Nino Canaleta. “Kumbaga, sabi nila, matalo na sa lahat wag lang sa Blackwater. Yung inggit, mararamdaman mo.”

The Enforcers are eyeng to continue their winning ways after toppling GlobalPort, 111-98 on Friday and make it two wins in a row.

And Mahindra wants to get that second win at the expense of Blackwater.

“It’s payback time,” said Canaleta. “Isa yun sa mga teams na di kami dapat matalo.”

Mahindra will once again bank on the do-it-all efforts of import Augustus Gilchrist, and from locals Karl Dehesa, Mark Yee, and LA Revilla.

Meanwhile, Blackwater is hoping to get a better performance from import MJ Rhett.

With Rhett down low, the Elite failed to take advantage of an Ivan Johnson-less TNT, losing 108-102 last Wednesday.

Rhett only had 16 points and seven rebounds in his debut, which pales in comparison with Carlo Lastimosa’s 41 markers in that failed fightback.

Obviously disappointed with Blackwater’s first game, the spitfire guard is looking to get a more potent showing from their reinforcement on Sunday.

“Di namin alam kung ano ang nangyari. Siguro mag-improve pa yan kasi kailangan namin yung tulong nya,” said Lastimosa.

Meanwhile, after suffering a hard fall in Blackwater’s last game, JP Erram remains a game-time decision when the two teams clash at 3 p.m. at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“Nawala na yung pagkahilo nya, except may konting sakit na lang sa ulo. Iche-check ulit namin sya bukas before the game kung pwede syang lumaro,” said Elite team manager Johnson Martines.
