Alaska Milk and super import sub Shane Edwards chase a fifth straight win when they go up against the slumping injury-hit Globalport side in a Petron Blaze Saturday Special at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Aces are heavily favored versus the Batang Pier in their 5:15 p.m. tussle, considering the former’s dominant win in their best-of-seven semifinal playoff in the recent PBA Philippine Cup.

Add to that injuries to Stanley Pringle (sore knee) and Terrence Romeo (strained calf).

Globalport is hoping new import Shawn Taggart could provide the needed boost to the team in his PBA debut.

Upset in the opener of their recent Philippine Cup Final Four faceoff, the Aces bounced back mightily, tearing Globalport apart in each of the next four games to make the title playoff versus eventual champion San Miguel Beer.

Alaska beat Globalport in those four matches by a whopping average margin of 22.75 points.

The Aces are back on the run while the Batang Pier have gone on an alarming skid following the ouster of Pringle.

Romeo is joining Pringle on the sideline with the calf injury he sustained in their previous outing versus the Blackwater Elite.

Going into the game, Globalport is tied in the cellar with Tropang TNT at 2-4, having lost its last three games versus San Miguel (109-120), Meralco (88-96) and Blackwater (103-115).

After losing their conference debut that they played without an import, the Aces, meanwhile, have since gone roaring with Edwards, rolling over the Texters, the Elasto Painters, the Phoenix Fuel Masters and the Barangay Ginebra Kings.
