LA Tenorio whispered something to Mark Caguioa as the latter headed to the showers early on fouls.
Tenorio made good what he told Caguioa, and Barangay Ginebra extended its season, beating out Talk n Text, 110-102, in their knockout duel for the last slot in the PBA Governors Cup playoff phase at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Tuesday night.

The 5-foot-10 guard scored all but two of their last nine points, and the Kings averted an endgame meltdown, gaining the right to play the Petron Blaze Boosters in the quarterfinals.
“Petron yan, talagang matibay. But we’ll be there fighting,” said Ginebra coach Ato Agustin.
As the lowest-ranked playoff team, the Kings need to win two in a row to make the best-of-five semifinals.
Petron Blaze takes its first of two cracks at the semis Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
“Nakatulong sa amin yung postponement nung game Monday. Nakapagpahinga kami and we came out strong in this game,” said Agustin.
Dior Lowhorn came through with 31 points and 10 rebounds while Tenorio piled up 24 markers, 10 assists, six boards and three steals, leading the Kings past the Texters who failed to make the playoffs for the first time in 11 conferences.
Out of the Governors Cup playoffs are the Philippine Cup three-peat champs and fatigue-hit Gilas Pilipinas mainstays Jason Castro, Jimmy Alapag, Ranidel de Ocampo and Larry Fonacier.
Fonacier put in a career-best 31 points, helping fuel Talk n Text’s searing rally from 21 points down in the final half.
The Texters, however, failed to stop Tenorio at the finish and, thus, joined the Air21 Express in an early vacation in PBA Season 38.
Cheered on by its throng, Ginebra recovered in time after nearly blowing its 21-point spread, and thus completed the quarters cast joining early qualifiers Petron, San Mig Coffee, Meralco, Rain or Shine, Globalport, Barako Bull and Alaska Milk.
Tenorio canned in two charities then scored on a daring drive as the Kings eventually broke the back of the Texters, 107-98, with a minute left to play.
With an efficient 58.3-percent shooting, the Kings enjoyed a 16-point spread, 57-41, at the half.
Lowhorn went 8-of-11 from the field for 20 points while Tenorio and Caguioa combined for 7-of-12 clip also for 20 markers as the three nearly outscored the entire TnT team in the first 24 minutes of play.
Japeth Aguilar returned from a six-game layoff, joining the starting unit that gave the Kings a strong start.
The 6-foot-9 center/forward didn’t play long, though, limping to the bench after only five minutes of action. He contributed one field goal, one rebound and one block.
The Kings opened a double-digit spread right in the first quarter and ripped the game wide open at the half on a triple by Tenorio off John Ferriols at the buzzer.
Ginebra’s lead grew as big as 21 at 70-49 but Courtney Fells eventually found his touch in the third quarter, helping the TnT back into the game going into the payoff period. (SB)
