When Talk ‘N Text team captain Jimmy Alapag first learned of Danny Seigle’s inclusion to the team, he only had one thing to say to the 14-year veteran.

“Get your running shoes out,” he said, which prompted Seigle to answer, “I have to dig them out.”

The newbie in TNT initially thought Alapag meant running in practice, but little did he know that what the Gilas mainstay told him is a view of how the Tropang Texters do it – running and gunning.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been in a run-and-gun team, but it’s fun,” said Seigle.

In his first game back, the Wagner College alumnus came off the bench and showed what he can still do even at the age of 37 as he had 13 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes of play in the 106-93 TNT win over GlobalPort.

But Seigle knows that he is still way behind his usual game form.

“I know I have to get my rhythm and my legs back. It’s just being on the court again. I’ve been practicing for a few days and its going to take a while, but I’m really comfortable,” he said.

“I only had three practices, and that’s only three times on the court for the last three months. I kept myself in shape but game shape is very different.”

He added, “It looks very good for a first game.”

Seigle said that adjustment was never an issue, since he knows majority of the players in the team.

“These guys are great. They are warm in welcoming me. It’s like I was playing with them for a while now,” he said.

His new coach Norman Black has also told him his new role on the team, given that the team needs more inside presence to bang bodies down low.

“I’m more of a supportive role here. I’m getting in the post a lot more than I have in Barako,” he said.

Seigle also is all-positive in terms of his new environment. “I love it here,” he said.

“They’re heavily motivated and extremely focused. You could definitely tell that they’re a championship team. These guys are proven winners. I didn’t come here to disrupt anything. I came here to compliment them.”

“We got the win. That’s the most important thing.”
