CENTERS OF ATTRACTION
After getting a taste of June Mar Fajardo, it will be rookie big man Greg Slaughter’s turn for ageless Asi Taulava as the 40-year-old center tries to keep Air21’s flickering playoff hope alive in the MyDSL PBA Philippine Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.
Taulava’s Express and Slaughter’s Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings square off in the first game of scheduled double header at 5:45 p.m.
For Taulava, playing against the young, dominant big men in the league, is always a challenge.
“I’ve seen June Mar becoming such a dominant force in the latter stretch of his rookie season and I expect Greg to follow the suit,” added Taulava.
“But playing against them is always a challenge. I played against Greg in the off season and will have a chance to finally play him on Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it.”
In their last game against the Blaze Boosters, Taulava was able to hold his own against Fajardo as the former MVP limited the 6-foot-10 pride of Cebu to his lowest output this conference.
