The Alaska Aces and the Meralco Bolts will be fighting for dear life as they battle for the last quarterfinal slot in the 2014 PLDT myDSL PBA Philippine Cup Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Gametime is at 8 p.m.

Both teams are in a four-way tie for the sixth spot at 5-9 together with Barako Bull and GlobalPort, but the Aces and the Bolts will be the ones slugging it out for the number eight spot after having the two inferior quotients.

FEATURED STORIES

Alaska is coming off an 89-80 win over Barako Bull Sunday to force the knockout playoff with the Bolts, and are hoping that the win could turn the tide for the Aces.

“We lived to fight another day,” said Alaska coach Luigi Trillo.

On the other hand, Meralco is still stinging from its 87-96 defeat at the hands of Petron Blaze last Saturday, its second consecutive defeat.

The winner of the KO game will earn the right to face number one-seed Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, which owns a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals. (RL)
