Greg Slaughter, Paul Lee, Jarred Dillinger and Marcio Lassiter have been tapped as additional players to the Gilas Pilipinas pool that will undergo buildup for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and the succeeding Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

Keeping their spots in the pool are guards Jimmy Alapag, Jason Castro and LA Tenorio, shooters Larry Fonacier, Gary David and Jeff Chan, forwards Gabe Norwood, Ranidel de Ocampo and Marc Pingris, and centers Marcus Douthit, Junmar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar and Beau Belga.

Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche would be considered if his naturalization papers are processed in time in Congress.

FEATURED STORIES

The pool starts once-a-week practice on Monday at 8 p.m. at PhilSports Arena.

Gilas will be limited to Monday practices until it can hold regular daily practices after the PBA season.

“I would like to acknowledge the team owners and the PBA Board of Governors for allowing me to name the players in the pool. I would like to thank the PBA for its continued partnership to the national team effort,” said coach Chot Reyes.

Slaughter and Lassiter were members of the original Gilas Pilipinas team under coach Rajko Toroman while Dillinger was with the all-pro team placing fourth in the last Asia Cup in Tokyo, Japan in 2012.

Lee is the only new face in the national pool though he got an invite in Toroman’s Gilas I. (SB)
