ROOKIE DIARY: NICO SALVA
My biggest adjustment in the pros was…
Mainly defensive because I had to adjust to the four spot from the three spot. I had to get used to chasing out screens, guarding quicker and smarter guys.
I learned from the veterans…
How to carry myself on and off the court, to be a professional, and getting myself prepared and ready for the game. Of course, you have to be ready whenever – kung gagamitin ka ng five minutes, 10 minutes or 40 minutes. You just have to be ready so that when your number is called, you’ll be able to help the team.
My most memorable moment in my first conference was…
When we won against Alaska, kasi critical yun and it gave us the seventh seed. Kung natalo kami, baka nahulog pa kami sa playoffs. And naka-contribute ako in that game so I felt good and productive, and I was able to help my team win.
I still have to improve on…
A lot. My defense, my range, that stuff. I’ve been working on my three-point shot, my midrange game, tsaka yung quickness and strength.
I’ll grade my performance as…
I think close to C, kasi I think I could’ve helped my team more, and hopefully mailabas ko ngayong conference. (RL)
