PBA PRESS CORPS SEMINAR AT MERALCO
As part of its give-back program to students, the PBA Press Corps will hold its first-ever Summer Journalism Workshop in partnership with Meralco on Thursday, April 24, at the Seminar Hall, (Tech Services Bldg), Meralco Compound, Ortigas Ave., in Pasig City.
Sixty delegates from three campuses – Polytechnic University of The Philippines-Sta.Mesa, EARIST as well as Universidad de Manila (UDM) will be taking part in the initial staging of the day-long summer workshop.
PBA Season 39 chairman Ramon Seguismundo, who represents Meralco in the Board, will open the summer workshop at 9 a.m.
“We believe this summer workshop will greatly benefit college students, who dream or aspire to become media practitioners in the future,” said PBA Press Corps president Barry Pascua of Bandera.
Former PBA Press Corps president Musong Castillo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer heads the list of speakers.
Castillo, who has been covering the sports beat since 1992 beginning with the now-defunct Manila Chronicle, will talk about Sportswriting.
PBA Press Corps treasurer Richard Dy of Spin.ph, will speak on Newswriting and Feature writing while long-time photojournalist Tony Pionilla of the Manila Bulletin will speak on the topic of Photojournalism.
Pascua is requesting the Press Corps officers and members to take part and interact with the delegates .
