PACQUIAO LIKELY NO-SHOW IN EXPANSION DRAFT
Manny Pacquiao is unlikely to take part in his first official league activity as Kia Motors head coach.
The Pambansang Kamao is a doubtful participant in Friday’s Expansion Draft after his wife, Jinkee, fell ill, needing the attention of the doting family man.
“Hindi makaka-attend si Manny. Kailangan niya kasi bantayan misis niya, may sakit daw,” said PBA media bureau head Willie Marcial.
“Hindi sinabi kung ano ang sakit ni Jinkee pero mukhang nabinat daw (from her previous illness),” he added.
He won’t be sorely missed though, as his coaching staff led by first assistant Glen Capacio will be there to make sure they get the players they want.
The Expansion Draft is one of the concessions given by the PBA Board to the two new member teams for them to form a competitive roster for the PBA’s 40th season which is to kick off on October 19.
Aside from Kia Motors, also participating in the Draft is Blackwater Sports Elite, which will be led by head coach Leo Isaac. (SBadua)
