EXCITED & NERVOUS, GOLLA KEEPS FINGERS CROSSED
In a Rookie Draft filled with guards, Frank Golla is hoping that his size will be an asset for him as teams look closely at the rookie pool.
“Pinagdadasal ko na sana ma-draft, pero kung kailangan ng teams ng big man, sana makuha. Di natin masasabi,” said the slotman out of Ateneo.
Golla has already had a brief touch with the PBA, as he worked out with the Air21 Express for two months during the past season, banging bodies with the likes of Asi Taulava and imports Dominique Sutton in practices as the now defunct franchise saw its most successful season in the league.
“Going against Asi for two months na araw-araw, kailangan talaga mag-improve ka. Malaking experience yung nakuha ko dun joining the practices with coach Franz (Pumaren). Malaking tulong talaga,” he said.
With the Draft slowly nearing, Golla just hopes that an opportunity would open for him in the pro league.
“Excited ako at kinakabahan. It’s everybody’s dream to be drafted, but kinakabahan din kasi ang daming participants. Its really a mix of both,” he said. (RL)
