RODRIGUEZ TO TNT TRADE OK’D
The PBA Commissioner’s Office has approved the trade that will send Larry Rodriguez to Talk ‘N Text in exchange for future second round picks.
Rain or Shine let go of the 6-foot-5 center-forward in exchange for the Tropang Texters’ 2015 and 2019 second round picks.
Rodriguez, who has given stability to the Elasto Painters’ frontline over the last four years, will further deepen Talk ‘N Text’s own frontline which already boasts of the likes of Kelly Williams, Jay Washington, Harvey Carey and Rob Reyes.
The big man from Philippine Maritime Institute averaged 4.6 points and 3.8 rebounds under head coach Yeng Guiao last season, and is sure to be a big boost for new TNT head coach Jong Uichico.
Rain or Shine, meanwhile, continued to collect assets in terms of draft picks, as the E-Painters have already stocked its roster in all positions. The hole left by Rodriguez will be easily filled by usual cogs Jervy Cruz and JR Quiñahan, as well as training camp members Don Allado and rookie Richard Cole, if they crack the final lineup. (RL)
