TNT-ROS GANUELAS

Four games into his PBA career and we can already say that Matt Ganuelas-Rosser has found a home in Talk ‘N Text.

The fourth pick of the recent PBA Draft has been a big boost for the Tropang Texters and has been a consistent force whenever coach Jong Uichico fields him in.

“It’s fun. I’m adjusting and coach is playing me a lot. I just have to bring the energy. It’s fun to help the team out in any way I can,” the lanky dread-locked leaper said.

FEATURED STORIES

Ganuelas-Rosser and fellow rookie Kevin Alas have been given a break in the TNT fold as the neophytes are seeing significant minutes this early in their PBA careers. But the versatile wingman said that they are just seizing the opportunity whenever their coaches need them.

“If our number is called, we’re always ready. The coaches and our teammates give us a lot of confidence especially with the way we run things, it’s like an open offense. If we feel like we can take our guy, they just let us go out there and play,” Ganuelas-Rosser said.

Interestingly, the 24-year-old Matt was posed with an interesting matchup when he clashed with Gabe Norwood, a guy who many people compare Ganuelas-Rosser to, when Talk ‘N Text faced Rain or Shine last Sunday.

And he didn’t disappoint, as he had 11 points and six rebounds to help TNT nail the 99-76 win.

“We’re pretty similar defensively, we make passes when it needs to be done,” Ganuelas-Rosser said. “It’s tough to guard somebody who has the similar abilities as me. There’s not a lot of us who are long and can handle the ball in this league. It’s pretty cool.”

Now, with the Tropang Texters sitting at 2-2, Ganuelas-Rosser believes that his squad has what it takes to return to its old championship form.

“We’re getting better. As long as we have a complete game, we’re good. I feel we’re getting better everyday and this game is a step in the right direction for us.” (RL)
