Blackwater coach Leo Isaac has challenged his wards after falling for the fourth straight game, this time to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

“I’m challenging them to get out of their fear, try to meet anybody who they can meet eye-to-eye,” Isaac said moments after the Elite dropped a 100-91 decision to the Kings.

“Sa Ginebra, parang nakayuko na yung mga player ko e. Intimidated. Until we convince ourselves that we could win, that’s the time when we could prove ourselves,” Isaac said.”Until the time you get out of your shell and compete with these guys, mawala yung fear, yung duda, that’s the time when we can celebrate the victory.”

At 0-4, Blackwater is still hoping for their breakthrough win in the PBA and Isaac is quite disappointed with how some of his players have been reacting when it’s already gametime.

“Totally, na-miss out namin yung game preparation. It was a bit frustating kasi the players worked hard during practice, pero pagdating ng game day, wala. What I said, medyo masakit but I have to say it. Sabi ko, some of the players here, sa ensayo doble, pero pagdating ng laban, bawas na,” he said.

“We believe that we can squeeze some more from these players. That’s why we picked them up. Meron pang pakinabang yung mga players na ‘to,” Isaac said. “But with the way they played today, parang they’re giving us the impression that they’re done. Medyo masakit din yung sinabi ko, but I have to say it.”

Isaac hopes that his players will finally wake up from their slumber, and he already is seeing some signs of hope especially from veterans Paul Artadi and Eddie Laure.

“Sana they would serve as an inspiration to the other players,” the coach said.

But once again, Isaac was firm in his dare to the Elite.

“That’s why you’re here because we believe that you could still give some more. Don’t give us the impression that you’re done. Maybe that would serve as a challenge and maybe, they can take away that fear and doubt and have a good game and have our first win in our next game,” he said. (RL)
