With GlobalPort needing a much needed boost in a close contest against Blackwater on Sunday, rookie Anthony Semerad answered the call in the third quarter, scoring seven of his 16 points in the period to kickstart the pullaway against the Elite.

But for the Fil-Aussie neophyte, he’s just giving his all whenever he is on the floor.

“I just wanted to play really hard, play with heart, give anything I can on offense and defense,” he said. “Everyone in our team is doing extra work, so our hard work pays off.”

The sharp-shooting forward from San Beda now realizes the difference between collegiate play and suiting up in the professional ranks, saying, “(My adjustment to the PBA) is ok, but it’s more physical than the NCAA.”

“I just have to keep on adjusting to the referees’ calls and hopefully, there are good things to come.”

But with all the physical play aside, Semerad’s focus is set solely on the GlobalPort campaign, where the Batang Pier are now currently at 3-2.

“It’s a good thing, and hopefully, we can get the ball rolling and get as many wins as we can,” he said. (RL)
