BONDING LANG ANG KULANG – BIG BEAU
Shaky as it may seem, Beau Belga said that their early struggles in the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup can’t be used as a gauge of how the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will do this season.
“Ganun talaga. Di naman lahat ng gustuhin namin, masusunod eh,” he said.
Their inconsistency has been a big reason why Rain or Shine is still in the middle of the pack with a 4-2 record.
The burly big man said that those problems are can be remedied, and their next game, which is slated on Saturday in Davao, will be a big help for the squad’s chemistry.
“Kulang lang siguro sa amin is bonding. We practiced nung preseason na kulang. Wala kaming Gilas boys, so one week before the season started, dun lang kami nabuo. Kailangan lang mag-jell. After that, we’re good,” Belga said.
“Kailangan lang talaga yun. Test yun para sa amin. Kailangan lang naming i-surpass, kailangan naming iimprove.”
Belga admitted that frustration has been eating some of his teammates. Even coach Yeng Guiao got to the point of telling his wards that everybody on the team can be traded.
But he understands that the statement was just driven by their coach’s belief in them and their hunger to win.
“He knows kung ano yung kapasidad namin as a team, as a group. Yung ganung klase ng pagkakasabi ni coach, it’s a wake up call in a sense na talagang magigising ka,” Belga said.
And he hopes that in the E-Painters’ next game against Meralco, they can perform better than their showing against GlobalPort.
Belga said, “Bonding lang. It’s a good test for us na we’ll have a game na out-of-town sa Davao. Once we fix our issues, lalabas din yung mga results na gusto namin.”
