With Purefoods Star slow coming off the gates again, the Hotshots had to dig deep and reacquaint themselves with their old winning form.

“Basically, yung ball movement namin. Ang dami naming assists ngayon,” said Peter June Simon, noting his team’s 16 assists in their last outing.

Sharing the basketball more than in their past games, the Hotshots were able to stop the bleeding and score a 92-76 victory over NLEX on Friday.

The Scoring Apostle admitted that their struggles have once again put them in a precarious position where they are in the bottom half of the standings and once again would have to find a way to pull through as they approach the playoffs.

Target namin, nasa gitna lang kami,” he said.

“Parang ganun ulit eh.

Minsan, nagkakanya-kanya kami kaya kami nahihirapan.”

Rediscovering their old form in that game against the Road Warriors, Simon is hoping that the win will trigger their ascent like before.

“Yung magandang nangyari ngayon is bumalik kami sa dating kami, yung nagpapasahan. Next time, ganun pa rin. Ipapakita namin na hungry kami, dedepensa kami ng husto, at sa opensa, lahat kami makakatanggap ng bola,” he said. (RL)
