How do you really cope with a losing conference, one which saw you losing all of your games?

For Blackwater coach Leo Isaac, there’s nothing really that you can do.

“We’re really starting from scratch. This is the reality. We just have to move on and completely forget about this conference and concentrate more on the coming second and third conferences,” he said.

Though there were times when the Elite seemed like they were closing in on a victory, Isaac’s inexperienced charges eventually fell in the endgame.

“We won’t blame anybody,” Isaac said. “We won’t point fingers on any individual for this season or this conference, but we just have to stay together, band together and try to improve as we prepare for the second conference.”

“We learned a lot of lessons.”

He also noted that no one on the team saw the 0-11 shutout coming.

“We have to be very honest. We didn’t expect this kind of a performance. We had high expectations with regards to the players but unfortunately, it didn’t push through. We have to evaluate things and maybe make decisions in the second conference,” Isaac said. “Maybe, we need to sit down and make adjustments with regards to personnel.”

The veteran coach was honest in his assessment, noting, “Actually, we didn’t see anything positive this conference. We want to inject some positive things, but you can only get that if you get wins. This conference, we came flat and ended flat, and we just have to improve more individually and as a group come the second conference.”

Blackwater won’t really have much rest, as they are set to return to practice on Saturday and welcome their import for the Commissioner’s Cup, 2014 ABL Import MVP Chris Charles.

Learning from the lessons of the recent past, Isaac said that they aren’t really setting any goals for the second conference this time, except for one thing.

“We want to win muna,” he said. “We just have to get a win come the second conference. From there, we can aspire for more.” (RL)
