REVISED DEAL SENDS CABAGNOT TO SMB, MERCADO TO GLOBALPORT
The Commissioner’s Office scrapped the deal between San Miguel Beer and Barako Bull and approved a revised trade that will send GlobalPort’s Alex Cabagnot back to San Miguel Beer in exchange for Sol Mercado and two future second round picks.
In the initial transaction that was approved, the Beermen would have sent Sol Mercado to Barako Bull for Denok Miranda and the Energy’s 2015 second round pick. It was supposed to be part of a series of trades but upon close evaluation of the proposed second trade that would then have sent Miranda to GlobalPort and Cabagnot to San Miguel Beer, commissioner Chito Salud urged all parties to revise the entire trade proposal.
After some discussion, the new deal was forged before the Wednesday noon deadline for trading of players.
