Half of the quarterfinal battle is already won for Talk ‘N Text, as the Tropang Texters thumped Barako Bull, 105-76, on Friday.

But coach Jong Uichico doesn’t want to get too ahead of himself, saying, “It’s nice that we won and advanced to the next round, but there’s still another game we have to think of.”

Asked which team he’d rather face minutes before the Barangay Ginebra – GlobalPort game was played, Uichico said, “Basta yung kaya naming talunin. Anybody naman, ok sa akin.”

Whatever happens, Uichico doesn’t want his wards to put their guards down. He wants the team to be ready for anything.

“Until we win the championship, we can’t sit on our laurels. That’s the gauge,” he said. “Until we win one, I don’t think we should be complacent. If you win one, you should win another one.”

Uichico added, “It’s nice to see them improve, but at the end of the day, you have to win the championship, stay consistent, and be there always.” (RL)
