Skidding AMA University tries to avoid elimination when it faces Café France on Monday in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

Reeling from three consecutive blowout losses, the Titans are hard pressed to win their last two games in the elimination round to have a shot at the quarterfinals.

Their scheduled 12 noon encounter against the Bakers doesn’t look encouraging, though.

Despite its 67-62 overtime win against Cebuana Lhuillier last Thursday that secured Café France the number three spot and a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals, the Bakers have no intention of slowing down.

“All our remaining games are must-win situations,” said Café France coach Egay Macaraya. “Hopefully, we could run and catch up with the running game of AMA.”

Maybe, a six-day break would help the Titans snap the skid and turn their fortunes around.

In the other games, MJM Builders (2-6) takes on MP Hotel (1-7) at 2 p.m. while Wangs Basketball plays Cebuana Lhuillier at 4 o’clock.

The Builders and the Warriors are both out of the playoff race. The Couriers (2-6) on the other hand, must win their remaining three assignments to have a shot at advancing to the next round.

The Gems (4-4) are looking to bounce back from Thursday’s loss to stay in the hunt for the other twice-to-beat advantage in the quarters. (DBC)
