THE THRILLER IS BACK
Willie Miller has finally gotten the call and is now back with the big boys in the big league.
The two-time PBA MVP goes for his second tour of duty with the Tropang Texters, having played with the team from 2004 to 2006.
Talk ‘N Text team manager Jimmy Alapag confirmed the signing of Miller, saying that the wily guard will be with the squad for the rest of the season.
Miller, 37, was left unsigned at the start Season 40 after an uneventful last year with Barako Bull.
Expansion teams Kia and Blackwater tried to acquire Miller during the Philippine Cup, but negotiations fell through, leaving the Thriller with the Siargao Legends in the 4th DELeague, a local tournament in Marikina.
There, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 10 games for the Legends, leading the team to the title, aside from being named the Most Valuable Player.
Miller is expected to mentor rookie Kevin Alas and join Jayson Castro and Rob Labagala in the Talk ‘N Text backcourt. (RL)
