OUT TO REGAIN WINNING FORM
Two teams aching to bounce back clash in the Wednesday curtainraiser of the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
GlobalPort hopes that the second time will be sweeter for Calvin Warner as they go up against Barako Bull at 4:15 p.m.
Warner recorded 24 points and 16 rebounds in his debut for the Batang Pier, but he wasn’t able to give his new squad the win over Meralco.
It’s still too early to judge if GlobalPort made the right decision to change CJ Leslie, and Warner has to register more than just the numbers to justify the move.
Also, All-Stars Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle would love to deliver for GlobalPort after being included in the midseason showcase.
However, standing in their way is the Energy’s 7-foot-1 import Solomon Alabi. The Nigerian reinforcement tasted his first loss in the PBA when Barako Bull clashed with Talk ‘N Text on Friday.
Barako Bull has been the biggest surprise in the three week-old tourney. Occupying fourth spot with a 3-1 card, the Energy are now out to prove the early wins were not a fluke. And they can start making believers out of some doubters with a win over GlobalPort. (RL)
