E-PAINTERS NOT TAKING ELITE LIGHTLY
Though their pockets might have been hurt by the hefty fines handed to them on the heels of their very physical confrontation against Ginebra, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are looking at the bigger picture.
And on Friday, they have a chance to put themselves in the mix for the top teams in the elims as they gun for their seventh win of the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup against Blackwater.
At 6-3, Rain or Shine can force a three-way tie for number one with Purefoods and Talk ‘N Text idle at 7-3.
But Guiao isn’t taking his eyes off of the dangerous Elite.
“We can’t take them lightly,” he said.
The fiery mentor is glad that the E-Painters are coming off of a great win over Ginebra, where they battled back from being down by 21 and eking out the 82-79 win, saying, “It’s one of those rugged games against Ginebra. You have to be physically and mentally tough when playing against them.”
Guiao said games like that prepare his wards better for the playoffs.
Game time is at 4:15 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. (RL)
