The retooling isn’t over for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The Kings continued to be active on the trading floor, starting a series of trades among four teams Monday.

Ginebra acquired the services of Dave Marcelo from Barako Bull, as new head coach Frankie Lim nabbed a familiar face with his former player from San Beda.

Marcelo, 26, averaged 6.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in the Commissioner’s Cup,  career-bests in his three years as a pro.

In return, the Energy acquired Billy Mamaril.

Barako Bull wasn’t to be Mamaril’s final stop, however. The Energy sent him to San Miguel Beer for Rico Maierhofer.

And finally, the Beermen shipped Mamaril and Doug Kramer to GlobalPort for veteran frontliners Yancy de Ocampo and Gabby Espinas.

“We’re happy to have Rico back in our fold,” said Energy coach Koy Banal. “We’ll have our four man who can run the floor and get offensive rebounds. He can be an asset to any team because of his willingness to do anything to help the team.”

GlobalPort team manager Bonnie Tan, for his part, explained, “Konting shuffle lang. Lahat naman sila experienced players, pero ang gusto namin sa mga nakuha namin is yung depensa. Mas banger sila sa loob na kailangan talaga namin.” (RL)
