For Barako Bull coach Koy Banal, despite the continuous rotation of players in his fort, he’s happy with the effort he has seen from his players.

With import Liam McMorrow’s production already a given, Banal was ecstatic that players like JC Intal, Dylan Ababou and Joseph Yeo are helping the Energy in more ways than one.

“All I’m asking from them is their perfect effort, from practice to the games,” he said.

True enough, that effort gave them a 101-96 win over NLEX on Wednesday, seeing significant contributions from his lineup.

Banal and the rest of the Energy eye back-to-back wins as they go up against Blackwater Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Fighting with his unheralded crew, Banal is just beaming with pride with the determination his wards are showing this conference.

“Everybody should stay in the game and they should be positive. That mentality allowed us to have a good run in our first game and hopefully, would rub off to our next,” he said.

Game time is at 3 p.m.

Blackwater, meanwhile, wants to get a little of that positivity too as it tries to avoid another beatdown.

The Elite suffered routs against Alaska and GlobalPort, and would like nothing more than to fall into another 0-3 hole this conference. (RL)
