A GOOD EXPERIENCE
Instant impact: that’s what Japanese reinforcement Seiya Ando delivered for Meralco.
Playing in his first game just three days after arriving in the country, the 22-year-old point guard proved that coach Norman Black’s decision to tap him and let go of Iranian Benny Koochoie was a good one.
Going 3-of-7 from three-point country, Ando had 18 points and three assists in his PBA debut Wednesday.
That, however, wasn’t enough as the Bolts fell to NLEX.
Still, the 5-foot-11 guard was satisfied with his first dip in the PBA.
“It’s a very good league. The fans and the crowd, it’s a very nice league,” he said.
He also compared the PBA to NBL-Canada. “In Canada, it’s faster. Here in the PBA, it’s more physical.”
Ando, however, is looking for a better result come Meralco’s next game, slated on Sunday against the Star Hotshots.
“I’ll try to be more aggressive, be stronger. I just try to play hard,” he said. “Coach told me to be more aggressive. If I’m open, I’ll take the shot.”
“It’s a good experience for me.” (RL)
