HOTSHOTS NEED ENERGY BACK
Falling for the third straight game, Star is now left to rue its mistakes on the heels of its 99-105 defeat to San Miguel Beer on Sunday.
And for Marc Pingris, he admits that even the players are baffled with the way the Hotshots have struggled this Governors’ Cup.
“Mahirap mag-isip ngayon kasi di namin alam kung saan galing yung mga talo. Talagang inaamin ko na nag-s-struggle yung team namin. Pero di pa huli ang lahat. Dahan-dahan lang,” he said.
The Pangasinense also believed that if not for their bad shooting night from rainbow country, going 7-of-25, the loss to the Beermen could have been avoided.
“Di lang din nag-click yung shooting namin sa labas. Ang daming open pero di na-shoot. Ang hirap ding lumaro sa loob dahil kay June Mar (Fajardo) kasi di ko rin sya kayang postehan the whole game kaya kailangan i-kick out mo,” he said.
Pingris, though, is still optimistic that the team could get out of its current position at the bottom four, which could mean an early exit at the end of the eliminations.
“Di kami sanay sa baba. Pero nangyari na sa amin ‘to dati. Kailangan lang tuloy-tuloy lang yung trabaho mapa-practice at sa game. Nawawala lang yung sigla sa game. Kailangan maibalik yun. Parang di na kami kumportable sa ginagawa namin, pero yun ang kailangan naming ibalik,” he said.
“Alam kong di rin kami pababayaan ni coach Tim (Cone) pero yung mga players, kailangan talagang magtrabaho.
“Tuloy-tuloy lang yung laban namin. Alam namin yung nga pinagdadaanan kaya dapat, wag lang titigil yung ginagawa namin. Diretso lang yung laban.” (RL)
