Barako Bull faces an acid test on Wednesday as it stakes its unblemished 4-0 record in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup against the streaking San Miguel Beer squad Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Surprising a lot of people with their early conference surge, the Energy sure are turning a lot of heads.

Deemed by many as a ragtag crew, Barako Bull has found the right formula, integrating players who are familiar with each other and pairing them with the intensity of young import Liam McMorrow.

“It’s a sign that everybody is excited with what’s happening on our team. I want to give it to the players. If one guy or two guys have an off night, somebody will step up,” said coach Koy Banal.

The soft-spoken coach sure has made the most of his squad as in its past four wins, different players have stepped up for the Energy.

Dylan Ababou, JC Intal, and Joseph Yeo all proved their worth in their past games, but it should take more than just their individual brilliance to topple the Beermen.

San Miguel has rebounded from a 0-2 start and racked up three straight wins, with its last coming against Star, 100-89.

Coach Leo Austria is elated with his players’ response to their early struggles, and he’s hoping that they can extend their three-game winning streak.

“I am happy to see my players na ineexecute na nila yung mga plays namin. We’re on one direction. We’re all on the same page,” he said.

Tip-off is at 4:15 p.m. (RL)
