Manny Pacquiao may not be having his best moment now as a fighter, but he’s having a grand time as part of the hot Kia team.

The Carnival seek further breakthrough as they clash with struggling defending champions Star Hotshots in a PBA Petron Blaze Saturday Special at the Angeles University Foundation Gym in Angeles, Pampanga Saturday.

Kia goes for a share of the lead in the PBA Governors Cup with Alaska Milk and Barako Bull at 4-1 while Star (1-4) tries to avoid further slide as they collide at 5 p.m.

FEATURED STORIES

The Carnivals are at their finest, and another win versus coach Tim Cone and his troops can’t be ruled out.

It will be recalled that Pacquiao and his chargers have pulled off a 95-84 reversal of the Hotshots last conference.

The Carnival’s morale is at an all-time high with their sizzling 3-1 conference start marked by victories over San Miguel Beer (83-78), NLEX (85-82) and Blackwater (83-76 in double overtime).

The Hotshots, meanwhile, are in disarray, setting out for their game against the Carnival coming off four straight losses to the Globalport Batang Pier, the Meralco Bolts, the Beermen and the Alaska Milk Aces.

The SMC Purefoods franchise matched its longest losing streak under Cone with its loss to Alaska Wednesday.

Before that game, Cone said: “I think we’re all kind of talked out. There’s not a whole lot left to say, but there’s a lot of doing to be done.”

Still, the Hotshots failed to do what’s needed done on the floor

Kia may be another tough challenge for the reigning champs with tall import Hamady N’Diaye, hot-shooting Taiwanese reinforcement Jet Chang and inspired locals LA Revilla, Karl Dehesa, Hyram Bagatsing and Alex Nuyles. (SB)
