Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Usually, Talk ‘N Text and Star could be seen on the top of the standings at this stage of the conference.

But the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup has proven to be an extraordinary conference, and it has lead to surprising twists and turns which resulted to shocking surprises as well as disturbing downfalls.

And on Tuesday, both the Tropang Texters and the Hotshots will be fighting for their lives as they cling on to slim hopes of making it to the quarterfinals.

“We have to keep on working. We haven’t been playing very well, that’s what we’re doing right now,” said coach Jong Uichico, as Talk ‘N Text snapped its four-game losing skid via a 98-91 win over Blackwater.

“We have to take care of ourselves. We’re trying to correct some things. The rotation, how we can rotate that we don’t suffer too much on both ends of the floor and how they can play together,” he said.

The Tropang Texters currently hold the eighth spot with their 4-5 card, but breathing down their necks are the Hotshots who carry a 3-5 slate.

However, it really has been a struggle for coach Tim Cone and his wards, as shown by their 103-88 defeat to Rain or Shine last Saturday. And they only had three days to make the necessary adjustments if they still want to advance to the playoffs.

Star’s sense of urgency must be at an all-time high, and it starts on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. (RL)
