GIN-bar slaughter

With already six wins to boot, Barako Bull is now assured of a quarterfinal berth.

However, despite the eye-popping start, it has been a struggle as of late for the Energy, dropping their last two outings.

And with only two games left in their schedule, Barako Bull coach Koy Banal is hoping to put a halt on their recent struggles in time for the playoffs.

FEATURED STORIES

That begins on Wednesday as the Energy go up against skidding Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

At 6-3, one must think that Barako Bull is just coasting to prepare for the playoffs.

However, recent losses to Kia and Alaska have led people to question the early success of the Energy.

What better way for Barako Bull to silence those doubters than to subdue the Gin Kings.

Former Ginebra players like Joseph Yeo, Dylan Ababou, JC Intal and Willy Wilson have been essential in Barako Bull’s ascent, as they, alongside young guns like RR Garcia, Carlo Lastimosa, and Jake Pascual, have been solid in helping import Liam McMorrow carry the squad to the top of the standings.

However, it will be tasked to fight a desperate Ginebra squad which is in danger of missing out on the playoffs if its two-game losing streak continues.

Coach Frankie Lim is left looking for answers with the struggles of this promising crew, but he knows that he has one guy he can count on if the Kings want to end this slump: his import Orlando Johnson.

Game time is at 7:00 p.m. (RL)
