“Sa mga fans ng San Miguel, salamat. Sana suportahan niyo pa kami sa mga susunod na conferences,” Jun Mar Fajardo, who won his second straight most valuable player (MVP) award, said.

Arwind Santos also expressed his gratitude to their loyal supporters.

“I always thank and love them especially yung mga nagtitiwala sa San Miguel,” Santos said.

He extended his appreciation to their fans who exerted their efforts to watch them live during the final games.

“Yung mga fans na nag-eefort kahit alam mo na mahirap para sa kanila. Siyempre, yung buhay nila hindi naman ganun sila kayamanan, simple lang, pero binibigyan nila kami ng oras para makita kami, para suportahan at para makabili ng tickets. Wala akong ibang masabi sa inyo kundi thank you and Godbless,” he said.

Fajardo and Santos both believed that teamwork paved the way for them to win another championship.

“Sobrang saya, sobrang blessed. Natapos namin yung season with a chanpionship. Focus kami as a team, so maganda yung kinalabasan,” Fajardo said.

Santos said the team’s determination made a difference during the finals.

“Ito yung nagawa nung tiwala ng samahan at nung kagustuhan namin. Sobrang sarap lasapin yung pagka-champion kasi sobrang tamis talaga,” he said.

Grand Slam

After winning two championship titles in a single season, the Beermen’s next challenge is the Grand Slam.

San Miguel Corporation President Ramon Ang, in his speech at the victory party, challenged the team to eye for the grand slam.

“Sabi ko, coach, baka kaya natin mag-Grand Slam,” Ang said, referring to coach Leo Austria.

Fajardo admitted that getting the grand slam is not easy but hardwork and teamwork would make the difference.

“Di naman ganun kadali yung grandslam. Kailangang pglagtrabahuhan talaga yun. Pero kung pagsisikapan namin, walang impossible,” he said.

Santos said he hopes that fans would remain supportive of the team whether they get a grand slam title or not.

“Sana wag silang mawawala. Sana lagi silang nakasuporta sa San Miguel nasa taas man kami o nasa baba. Sana lagi kayong nandiyan. Hindi lang sana sa tagumpay namin sila makasama, kahit sana sa kbigun nandiyan sila. Maraming salamat sa inyo at wag kayo bibitaw,” he said.
