PBA Draft Focus: No expectations for Vosotros as he strives for PBA dream
One of the best shooters in this year’s talented rookie pool, Almond Vosotros doesn’t want the praise to get to his head.
Amid all the attention, the former Green Archer admits that he went into the 2015 Gatorade PBA Rookie Draft activities, including the 2-Day Draft Combine, out of shape.
“Since Gilas, I played no basketball. All I did was conditioning,” Vosotros, who was part of the gold medal-winning PH team in the recent Southeast Asian Games, said.
This, Vosotros said, has made his journey to the towards the pro tougher, but that won’t stop him from continuing to strive for his dream.
“Actually, I don’t expect anything. I just work hard everyday. I also don’t think about that praise of me being the best shooter. I still haven’t achieved anything because I’m still not in the PBA.
Even when he isn’t in tip-top shape, don’t expect Vosotros to slack off.
“Every game, every tourney, even if I’m out-of-shape, I try my best to perform. All I want is to impress the coaches to get closer to my dream.”
