Rabeh Al-Hussaini isn’t thinking of redemption right away as he makes his return to the PBA.

For now, Al-Hussaini just feels fortunate to have a fresh start with Meralco after he mysteriously went missing during the 2014-15 season.

“I’m just really happy to come back and help my team in whatever they want to ask me,” said the 6-foot-7 center, who was recently signed to a one-year deal.

Al-Hussaini’s return is a welcome sight for head coach Norman Black, who is aching to bolster his thin frontline which took another hit after Danny Ildefonso decided to call it a career.

“There are still mainstays like Kelly (Nabong), Cliff (Hodge) and Rey (Hugnatan). Whatever happens to me, I’m just here to support and play basketball,” Al-Hussaini said.

The 27-year-old Al-Hussaini didn’t see action in the PBA for about a year and a half but the former Ateneo star said he tried to stay in shape.

Though, he knows that keeping himself in shape is one thing and getting back his old form is a whole different task.

“The challenge is getting my form back and we’ll get the timing eventually,” said Al-Hussaini, the second overall pick in the 2010 Draft. “Let’s see. I’m not making any promises. Hopefully, all will turn out well and nothing bad happens.”
