With a slew of new faces, NLEX head coach Boyet Fernandez said the team is still in the process of building chemistry following the changes made in the PBA offseason.

“We are still a work in progress but we are improving every day,” Fernandez told INQUIRER.net.

The Road Warriors has had a busy offseason when it comes to tweaking their personnel.

They drafted shooting guard Garvo Lanete and former National University forward Glen Khobuntin in the first round of the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft.

The Road Warriors then acquired Kevin Alas and parted ways with forwards Aldrech Ramos and Niño Canaleta as part of the three-team trade with Mahindra and Talk ‘N Text.

NLEX added another point guard in Simon Enciso, whom it got from Rain or Shine in exchange for the rights to a 2018 second round pick.

Fernandez said the addition of Alas and Enciso gives his team a “solid” guard rotation along with the veteran Jonas Villanueva.

The new season begins on Oct. 18 and with a little over a month of preparation left, Fernandez said the team is still planning to play tuneup games with other PBA teams along with a team building session to further improve the players’ bond on and off the court.
